I painted yesterday in Austin at the Life Painting Painters on Mary Street.  I am really looking forward to going out tomorrow to paint at my brother's ranch in Hondo.  It is a real hill country ranch with lots of cactus and oak trees.  I hope I can find a few blue bonnets.  I will let you know tomorrow.

I have a lot of activities on my plate right now.  I am trying to get my novel finished before I attend the writers and agents conference in Austin with my critique partner in June.  Not to mention my left brain activities including getting ready for the gender class in negotiations class at St. Mary's Law on Wednesday and getting our pitch deck ready for the EBA.   I love it all!

bluebonnets paintings for sale

Bluebonnets are blooming again in San Antonio and I will be painting them again soon. My painting "Prickly Poppy at Blue Bonnet Hill at the San Antonio Gardens is now in the home of my friend Shari Wynne, but the prints are still for sale.  I still have other bluebonnets paintings for sale.  And the lovely deckle-edge cards are for sale at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens now.

Launching the website julene.io

I am delighted to launch this new website julene.io.  It is meant to be a perspective on myself that includes the many things I am interested in deeply.  There have been so many things that have captured my interest over the years.

But for most of the last thirty years I have been focused upon family and my career.  My left-brain career.  I have gotten so much enjoyment from it and the amazing, brilliant and talented people I have met through my activities.  And, it has been an opportunity for me to exercise my creativity in support of my profession and the people it serves.

The career is taking me to broader and more interesting horizons. But, I am determined not to leave my painting and writing behind again.  Although yoga has made me feel youthful and gives me more energy than ever, I know I have only so long to create in all areas of my life.  So, I have been painting when I can and my joy when I paint is transcendent.

Writing is also something I neglected for so many years, except for business writing, which is not the same thing for me.  I am delighted to have taken several of Spike Gilliespie's workshops.  http://meditationkicksass.tumblr.com.  Spike is a true blogging inspiration!  I am also working with an amazing critique partner on my novel. I am about 120 pages away from my first draft I believe.

More to come in my journal about my personal journey.
